Passed away peacefully on Thursday 23 October, Aged 88, at Princess Alexandra Retirement Village.

Loved mum of Brynley and Gwyneth (Gwyn) and mum-in- law of Zoe. Loving Grandma to Colin and Sam. 

Friend to many, Elaine is remembered for her love of music, her eternal optimism and her enduring faith. She always had a smile for everyone. 

Finally free to fly

A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Dunstalls Memorial Chapel, Napier on Friday 31 October 2025 at 11am. 

My condolences to Elaine’s family. We met early in the 50’ies through Beryl. But much more recently we met at musical things and it was always fun to see her again. Much more recently I heard her choir sing and act at Eversleigh Rest Home in Hastings not too long ago and was filled with delight and admiration for her ability and charm. May she rest in peace

Kia ora Gwyn and Sam, That was a beautiful tribute of your mum's life Gwyn. Sorry to not be there in person to share this with you both. The photo's told a great story. The music she loved so powerful. She was quite the traveller in her early years. Beautiful stories of her constant reliability of being positive and unchanging. What an amazing effort to honour her life. Loved the stories. Hope you have some special butterfly moments and feel the peace of her being free. Pretty cool to think her and Beryl just might be reunited and hanging out. Lots of love to you both. Lyn, Chris, Coby and Bri xxxx
