A service for Ian will be held in The Dunstall Memorial Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at 11am.

So sorry I was not there today. Mack has made me laugh in some of my most challenging moments. My Dad also had a huge amount of respect for him and loved his blunt, no bull attitude. Thanks for streaming the service, I was able to watch it and it's helped me laugh and cry in equal measures.

Ian was my solicitor for several house purchases over the years. His expertise, knowledge and humor were something I valued so much. He was also quite blunt as when I made an offer on a property in Omahu, house and land (one Maori owner) and sent through the papers to Ian. Next day I received a 'phone call from Ian "Di what are you smoking?" I loved his humor, naughtiness ( in language) and dedication to his clients. Rest well my friend. Di

Ian you will leave a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends.. Such a character and full of fun but also a great Lawyer and Coroner. You were always there when I needed help. So glad we got to chat last year. Condolences to your family. RIP
