(Formerly Jarrett), (Nee Manning).          95 years

Passed away peacefully at Atawhai on 3 May 2022. Loved wife of Taffy Lyons (deceased) and Harley Jarrett (deceased). Loving mother to Maria, Christopher, Victoria, Pauline, Mark, Linda, Richard and loving mother-in-law to Flavio, Peter, Richard, and Vicki-Jane. Much loved Grandmother to 11, Great Grandmother to 9, (with 2 more coming soon).    

A Requiem Mass was celebrated at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Osier Road, Greenmeadows, Napier at 11:00 am on Monday 9 May 2022 followed by interment at Wharerangi Cemetery.

The Rosary was recited at St Mary’s at 7:00 pm on Sunday 8 May. 

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

We are truly sorry to hear the sad news about Mummie-Ji. We remember her with great fondness, her zest for life was contagious. We always felt she lit up every gathering she attended when we met in Perth.

Dear Linda, Pauline, Chris, Richard, Vicki, Mark, Maria and families
We were very sorry to learn your lovely Mum had passed away and wanted to say how much we are thinking of you all as tonight's Rosary approaches and then her funeral tomorrow morning. We are unfortunately unable to attend as we are in Christchurch, but will be watching the livestream. It's wonderful that Joy got so much pleasure from you all, and your children, throughout her long life and was such a kind and loving sister to her four brothers. We remember her with great fondness and look forward to sharing in the special celebration of her life tomorrow morning.

Dear Marilyn,Christopher,Victoria,Pauline,Mark,Linda and Richard
I was so sad to hear of Aunty Joy’s passing this week. I was fortunate to visit her the day before she died on Monday. I have very fond memories of a wonderful Aunty. One poignant memory is when I was invited to stay with my Jarrett cousins when I was a young girl! Aunty Joy was kind and compassionate, an active member of the community and a person whose memories will not be forgotten.
