I have just watched the lovely and very moving service in remembrance of Jo's life. I remember Jo as one of my students learning German at Motueka High school! It is a very sad loss. My thoughts are with you, Mary, Iain and Hamish, at this difficult time. Love from Michele.
Jo was such a lovely niece and very special to us as she visited the uk so many times as a toddler, capable child helping me with our first baby, teenager on her own and spent Christmas with us, 4 months as part of her gap year and then again with Matt.
I had the privilege of visiting her about 18 months ago when she was under chemo - not that you would know as she came straight from her chemo session and picked me up from the airport!
She had such a positive attitude and was far more interested in everyone else than herself.
We will miss you so much and our thoughts and prayers are with you - Matt & family. Love Helen & Arthur xx
Irish Prayer: He put his arms around you, and lifted you to rest. Gods garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best.
He saw the road was getting rough, and hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered 'peace be thine.'
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you and whispered 'come to me.'
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you passed away.
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.
God looked around His garden, and found an empty place.
He then looked down to earth, and saw your tired face.
Sending love to Matt and Jo rest well my friend x
