To all of Alys' family
I was saddened to hear about the passing of an amazing and very special lady. I know you will all miss her terribly but will have some wonderful memories as I do. She was a very special friend to my Mum, Rima Dean. Thanks Lyn for sharing the sad news.
Alys was our next door neighbour and, as a young person, I knew her as Mrs. Alexander. My memory of Alys is of a woman whose face always radiated a cheerfulness and warmth; there was this beautiful big smile framed by a pleasant red lipstick, and her eyes always reflected the genuiness of her smile. Another of my memories pertains to Alys's generoisity for hosting intellectually disabled people for a week holiday at the farm; as a youth I thought
it was an amazing thing to do and, from my adult perspective I can appreciated the organisational skills that Alys employed to co-ordinate the event. Go well Alys, may your rest be peaceful.
