STORY, Bernard “Bernie” Michael
Passed away on January 16 with his loving wife Gwen by his side.
Formerly of Waipawa, Bernie died in Hastings following a long illness, aged 82.
Son of the late Bill and Nellie Story, he is cherished by his eight children Simon, Kim, Mark, Paul, Brendon, Daniel, Sarah and Tony – their spouses Mark, Julie, Ruth, Nikki, Claire, Nick and Ruth, and his 23 grandchildren.

A Requiem Mass will be held at St Mary’s Catholic church, 58 Osier Road, Greenmeadows, on Tuesday 20 January 2026, at 10:30am.
Followed by burial at Waipawa Cemetery on Wednesday 21 January 2026 at 10am
