passed away peacefully on 14 December 2025, aged 52.

Beloved husband to Nancy, stepfather to Jay, and devoted companion to his much-loved dog, Ruby. Michael was a dearly loved son to Liz (Leslie) and Ken, a treasured brother to Anna and Matt, and a proud uncle to his nieces, Sammie and Georgia.

Michael will be remembered for his love of surfing and the ocean, always up for a laugh, and loved by many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private service will be held on 19 December 2025.

A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Michael Douglas Scott will take place at East Pier Hotel – Napier on 24 January 2026 at 1:00 pm. All who knew and loved Michael are welcome to attend and honour his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cranford Hospice.

Farewell Mike, my best mate at Primary school. Lots of crazy and awesome memories of the stuff we used to get up to. Matt and Anna were the big brother and sister I didn't have. Our missions cruising around the neighbourhood on the Cruiser using 'double power' were legendary. Building wooden ministocks, playing rugby and cricket and long summers hanging out will always be remembered. Rest easy. T

Lovely to hear Dallas speaking and Nancy's unmistakable laugh in the background.
Wish I could be there for the paddle out, although I'd need someone like Mike out there to save me.

I've been fortunate to have many excellent shared experiences with Mike. We had the time of lives in the prime of lives whilst in London, and always fun in other parts of the world where we had the privilege to meet up.

Mike's positivity, good spirits and beautiful smile will live on in our hearts and I look forward to remembering him with Nancy, Jay, Rob, Clay + other family and friends. Deepest condolences to all of you suffering from this massive and far too early loss.
