 Died peacefully on 30 May 2025 at his home surrounded by family, aged 92.

Dearly loved husband of the late Natalie. Much loved father of Kate, David (dec), Deborah,  Andy, Fiona, Joanne (dec), Carrie, Greg, Lisa, Jonathan, Anita and Nadine, and father-in-law  to Guy, Fran, Tim, Sandy, Bob, Richard, Dean, Nicola, Steve and Louisa.  Very special Grandad to his 32 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren who he loved  dearly and were the joy of his life. 

A service to celebrate Ian’s life will be held at 11am on Thursday 5 June at the Napier War Memorial, Marine Parade, Napier. 

We invite Family and Parishioners to a Requiem Mass for Ian which will be celebrated at 9.15 am on Wednesday 4 June at St Thomas More Catholic Church, Wycliffe Street, Napier.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cranford Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at https://cranfordhospice.org.nz

Uncle Ian a true all round champion with a strong business drive & no nonsense approach to life but with a heart of gold. Always enjoyed Auntie Natalie & Uncle Ian’s company he will be greatly missed & now the end of a great era.

What a great celebration of Ian's life. Lots of true words said, laughter and tears to honor and amazing husband, father ,grandad and great grandad.
Through my special friendship with Jo I came to know your mum and dad and lately you all. I am so sorry I couldn't be there in person to help you celebrate Ian's life. But what and amazing celebration full of love for a great man. His family was everything to him and you all cared for him so well in the last year. I know your Mum, David Josh and Jo will be there to welcome him. xxxx Bloggies

Uncle Ian - sending all my love and fond memories of you to the NZ family. I will always remember how cheeky and fun and kind you were, just like Grandad George. I remember when you visited me in London, when I was so new there and you looked after me that day. It meant the world to me and it still does. All my love from Texas, USA where I live now with my husband Jamaal and almost 3 year old daughter Ocean Kimani. RIP xxx
