HOPSON, Ian Frederick Ongley. Aged 88.

Peacefully in Napier on August 26, 2023. Beloved husband to Diane. Loving father to Megan, Karen and Fran, Andrew and Kerrie. Poppa to Leroy, Brittany, Steven, Alisha, Aiden, and Tyler (deceased). Ian's career with NZSCo, later P&O, spanned his entire working life. Ian was a dedicated volunteer to various Hawke’s Bay organisations. Thanks to Hampton Court staff for their comforting care.

A private cremation has taken place, and a memorial service for Ian has been held at St John’s Cathedral on Friday September 1, 2023 at 1pm. Donations to Napier Seafarers Centre would be appreciated.

Poppa was a wonderful man. Many fond memories. He will be sorely missed. Rest in peace poppa

To Diane and Family
I very sadden to hear about Ian's Death I worked with Ian at the Seafarers Centre in the early when i first volunteered to help out there. I was all very grateful for his help and advise. His knowledge of the shipping industry. Due to personal circumstans . I am unable to attend Ian's memorial service
To Dianne and family I would like to wish them all the very best for the future as you move on to what ever direction it may take to life without Ian
