Passed away peacefully in his home at 15:40 hrs on 14 April 2023. Beloved father and father-in-law of; Barbara, Megan, Blair, and Derek; Marty, and Dave.  Adored grandfather of; Taylor, Jordan, Christopher, Ben, and Tori. A strong and gentle man who lived a life of service for his community and family.  He will be much missed by those who knew and loved him, especially his little sisters Ruth and Norma. A donation in Philip’s memory to St. John Ambulance would be very much appreciated and can be left at the service. A celebration of Philip’s life will be held in the Dunstall Memorial Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier on Saturday, 22 April 2023  at 11am. I miss you, Phil. I miss you a lot. You gave alot more than you took, and loved more than we realised. I will remember our laughs over whiskey, the advice in good-times and bad, and the inspiration to be a better man.

Our condolences to Phil's family on his recent passing. My mother, Betty Lawrence (nee Mortensen, last grandchild of Rangdi & Knud Andersen alive, we think) has asked me to pass on her condolences to the extended family. Mums aunty was Carrie (Karen, Caren), Schmidt (nee Andersen), Phils grandmother (great?). Mum and I caught up with Phil when we visited him a few years back at his unit near Napier. Please pass this on to Dave (Matoe) should he or others wish to contact Betty.

We have not seen PHil for such a long time
A great tourist and A B supporter
We have great memories of Phil buying a doll for Taylor while in Monmarte Paris
Running the match day sweeps and making sure the Bus Bar was always well stocked

Phil was a very caring person who always put others before himself. His contribution towards his Police colleagues was particularly significant.
My thoughts are with the family.
