Passed away peacefully on 18 February 2023.

Loved wife of the late Allan.

A service for Joan will be held at The Dunstall Memorial Chapel, Edwardes Street, Napier on Saturday 25 February 2023 at 10.30am. The service will be livestreamed at www.dunstalls.co.nz

To my darling, cute, sharp as a tack, Nana... what an absolute innings!! I am so thankful I got to share a bubbles (or 2) with you on your 100th birthday and I will forever hold the image of you standing in the hallway waving us goodbye as we all left with a wee tear in your eye.. (I was blubbering!)
I am one of many in her huge, adoring family she leaves behind and that unfortunately couldn't attend her funeral due to recent acts by Mother Nature. I wanted to take a moment to highlight us all that watched on via the link:
Her sons - Rod, Brian and wife, Judy
Her grandchildren - Greg, Martin, Allan and Jessie (Rod's kids) and Anna, Gareth, Jennifer and Megan (Brian and Judy's kids)
Her great-grandchildren - Logan, Holly, Harvey, Sadie, Campbell, Cassidy, Douglas and Ruby
We love you Nana - rest easy now and have a bubbles for me xxx

Aunty Joan was a constant in my life. She had a great sense of humour and was always pleased to see us no matter how long it had been since the last time! We will miss her. Barbara and Phillip

Joan was a lovely, fun-loving woman who was mentally sharp and full of love the last time I saw her on her 100th birthday. She was generous and strong-willed and a beautiful piano player. She loved her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved telling us about how they took her out to dinner and about their lives. She inspired us all. I will miss her.

Saying goodbye is never easy, however in Mum's case, after 101 years she really wanted to leave. So it is with heavy heart we say goodbye as you leave us with so many wonderful memories which will be with us for years to come.
