Not only were you my Uncle but I was lucky to have you as my Godfather.
Dad always wanted to see where his sister Jan, you and the girls had emigrated to. In 1993 Mum, Dad and I made the trip out to New Zealand. After a coach trip around the North Island and South Island we spent a lovely week with Gail, Bruce, Lucy and Aaron. You drove down and picked us up and then we had 3 weeks in Napier. Fond memories of days out with you, Vicki and Deanna. You took us to visit Debbie and remember when you were about to drive off and mum realised she had forgotten to hand in the room key.
You made several trips back to Chichester. I was so pleased that in 1995 when Steve and I got married in Donnington you were at the wedding.
Even though we were thousands of miles apart we kept in touch with Christmas cards, photos and emails.
Love to Vicki, Debbie, Gail and their families.
Rest in peace Uncle Gordon.
Love from Sarah, Steve, Mark and Ella and mum (Jean Burchell). xxxxx
Gordon,
It was an absolute pleasure knowing you, especially in my teenage years.
Every time I saw you from across the road, you would always wave out and say hello with a big genuine smile, & invite us kids over for a drink and a chat.
You would always be more than happy to show us what project you were currently working on in the garage.
I am especially grateful for the relationship you had with my youngest sister Kerrie. You treated her like a granddaughter, always giving good advice and guidance, taking Kerrie out to places with you and Deanna, having a great old time together.
Cherished memories she often spoke about, even to this day, you were a big part of her life.
May you rest in peace.
Such a beautiful send off for a wonderful man. You were loved by many and you always will be. Sorry I couldn't be there and to help support my dearest friends Vicki and Deanna but I was there with all my heart and it was a privilege I could view your lovely service been brought together by your beautiful family. Thank you for all the memories and your kind heart you brought into my life. Have fun up there with family and friends and especially Jan. love and light Gordon, fly high. Love kerrie xxx
Gordon...Always the Gentleman. A man who could be trusted and relied upon. Very generous with his time and a willingness to share his vast knowledge, experience and skills. A long, colourful and sucessful life, lived with grace and style. R.I.P.

Dad.... My heart hurts and the tears are flowing, every now and then a smile creeps through with a beautiful memory of a time with you. You were funny, kind, caring, loving and compassionate and always there to listen and advise. Sienna still talks of the special treasure hunt you did for her, and the art books and little special ornaments you gave her. Andy also has fond memories of you and sharing a whiskey and milk, although he still doesn’t get your appeal to adding milk to whiskey. I feel blessed to have had you in my life and so privileged and honoured to have called you Dad, you have forever left a huge imprint on my heart. Love always Sue
Dearest Gordon
