Passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2019. Dearly loved wife of Milton. Precious Matriarch to the families of her 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Val has arranged a celebration of her life to be held at St John’s Cathedral, Browning Street, Napier on Thursday June 6, 2019 at 2.00pm. Followed by a private cremation. In Lieu of flowers a donation to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be left at the entrance to the cathedral. We honour Val as a deeply Christian enthusiast for the Gospel and her Church : for her commitment to young people: and for her love of music, imparting it to the young and enlivening our worship.Thanks to Milton and her family who meant so much to her. I was really Sad to hear of Mrs Beattie's passing. I first met Mrs Beattie when I first went to Sunday School at 3 years old. She directed the Sunday School Musical Music Machine where I had a small singing solo. She gave me confidence and started my passion for Music. Years later she taught me to play the Piano. I'm pretty sure I was a challenging pupil but she was dedicated and was an awesome Piano Teacher who gave me the Music Skills and the dedication to keep playing and the base to learn other instruments. She was an amazing lady who I caught up with a fee years ago in New Plymouth. I will always remember her as a Beautiful talented lady with a big heart. My condolences to Milton and Family she will be missed.
