Suddenly in Accra, Ghana aged 38.  Deeply loved best friend and husband of Gemma  (nee Hooper-Smith) and father of Zachary and Penelope.  Cherished son of Chris and Jan (Napier) and brother of Rebecca (Wellington).

A memorial service for James was held at the Napier Sailing Club, West Quay, Ahuriri, on Friday August 10 2018, at 1pm.
