Passed away peacefully at home in Napier. Dearly loved husband of the late Myra Louise Deere and partner of Val Gronwall. Loving father of Simon, Louise, Adam and Geraldine.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Munroe Street, Napier at 12.05pm on Friday, June 2, 2017. For this community, this will be the Mass for that day.  Followed by private cremation.A tribute to Les or a message for his family can be left via www.dunstalls.co.nz or posted to PO Box 1055, Napier, 4140.

A great guy which l had a lot of respect for.

Sincere condolence on your loss. Didn't know Les very well. He was in The Mikado which I took part in. Les was the Mikado .

I am thinking of your family at this sad time. Les was a favourite cousin of my mother (Erin Englert nee Nightingale) and he was always a very positive force in my wider family. Les was an altar boy at my parent's wedding in 1954 and I have film footage in an early 8 minute colour reel of schoolboy Les's cheeky grin. Les stayed with my grandmother (Louise) when he was first working in Wellington. She spoiled him rotten and he never forgot. Much love to all the family.

Hi Lou and family. I'm Phil Cody a Marist priest and friend of Ron Saunders.

My sympathy to you and the family on the loss of Les. He certainly put up a great fight.

He and Myra were wonderful help when I was in the seminary and teaching students. Their laughter and sharing was great support to young students.

Unfortunately I won't come to the funeral but would be very grateful if you could pass on my love and support to you and family.

Oh Geraldine, Louise, and famllies.. how sad to read the lovely Les has died... what wonderful memories I do have of the Deere family and the Ewens Family all involved in our Jaycee Days.. Please accept my sincere condolences.. Marie Ewens. x
