Suddenly, after a short and unexpected illness, John passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Much loved husband and soul mate of Leonie for 32 years. Cherished and only son of the late Raymond & Merle Hill. Loved son-in-law of Joyce and the late Norman Wood. Much loved father and father-in-law to Rebecca & Jan-Plessis, David & Ashleigh, and Peter & Nikki.

Cherished brother and brother-in-law to Diana & Peter Ireland, and Stephen & Mon Wood. Beloved grandad to Helena-Jane, & Linnaeus. Loved and treasured uncle to all his nephews & nieces and great nephews & great nieces. John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of John's life was held in the Dunstall Memorial Chapel on Thursday the 10th of November, 2016 at 1.00pm followed by interment at the Western Hill's cemetery.
