MONAHAN (nee O’Connor) Shona Mary
On 6 April 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by family following a long and courageous battle with illness. Much loved mother and mother in law of Chris and Ross (Napier), Paula, Debbie and Bob, Janine and Garth, Andrea and Craig, (all of Wellington), Brendon and Karen (Melbourne). Adored Nana of Chloe, Luke and Nicholas. Loved sister and sister in law of Terry and Ruth, Moira and Maurice, Anne and Wayne. The family is so appreciative of the efforts of Jan Kirby, Malcolm Arnold, Guy Vautier and the team at Villa 6 who treated her like a member of their own family and whose dedication extended our time with mum by many years. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cranford Hospice would be appreciated as they helped the family make Shona’s last days as peaceful as possible. A service to celebrate Shona’s life was held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Munroe St, Napier at 2.30pm on Monday 11 April, thereafter to internment at Western Hills cemetery.
