(nee Bracken).

On April 21, 2015, suddenly and peacefully at Hawkes Bay Hospital, in her 82 nd year.

Devoted wife of the late Doug, much loved and adored mother and mother-in-law of Claire and Paul McLean, Ewen and Lynda, Mary and Stephen Doohan, Paul and Robyn, Peter and Susan. Devoted Grandma of Michael, Andrew, Maree, and Gerard; Matthew; Richard, Joanna, Patrick, and Martin; Carissa, and Kelsie; and their respective spouses. Loved great grandmother of Benedict, Perpetua, Paschal, Cohen, Florence, Olivia. Treasured sister of Tom and Beverly Bracken and loved sister-in-law of the Livingstone family.

Gone to be with Doug, happy together again.

Our thanks to the staff of Princess Alexandra Rest Home and nursing staff at Ward A1, HBRH.

A Requiem Mass for Margaret was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Munroe Street, Napier, on Friday, April 24 at 1.30pm. 

Rest in Peace Mum.

To Paul, I was saddened to read of Margaret's passing, I'm sending you big hugs and lots of love, and hope that the memories of fun times with your mum stay with you forever.

A mother's love for her son is pure and special.
It can not be broken or reckon with.
It's a kind of love that softens even the hardest of hearts.
Love between mother and son is strong and visible from the sea.
It brings peace of mind and drys sad tears.
It can bring a man to his knees and make him weep.
A mother's love for her son is not hidden or shy,
but is ever lasting that grows stronger each day.
