Passed away peacefully on June 29, 2014 at HB Regional Hospital, aged 91 years.

Dearly loved wife of the late Jim. Much loved sister of her deceased siblings (Australia) and loved sister-in-law of Barry Bryan, and Beverley Mee. Loved Aunt of Wayne Bryan and all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved member of the St. Thomas More Parish community.

A special thank you to the staff at Atawhai Elder Care Centre for their wonderful care of Betty during her time with them.

A Requiem Mass for Betty will be celebrated at St Thomas More Catholic Church, Wycliffe Street, Napier on Friday July 4 at 11am. Followed by interment at the Wharerangi Lawn Cemetery. For this Parish, this will be the Parish Mass of that day.  Rosary will be recited in the Church on Thursday at 6pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated and may be left at the church. Betty was the best neighbor a kid could have growing up. She so greatly loved having the neighbor kids stop by, always had something sweet to eat and had a contagious laugh. She loved sharing our cats (who always seemed to get treats when they stopped by next door). She was a wonderful cook and her "failures" were fantastic. Not that we wished she'd be unhappy with the way something came out, but, truthfully, if it wasn't perfect in her mind then we all benefitted. Betty, you had a huge impact on my interest in cooking and for that and all your kindnesses through the years you will always be remembered.
